Anonymous looks to help 'Yandina Five'

Anonymous Brisbane posted a video on YouTube calling for the release of the Yandina Five.

A YOUTUBE clip by an international network of activists and hackers calls for the release of the Yandina Five.

The four-minute and 56-second video targets the Newman Government's controversial VLAD laws.

Paul Jeffery Lansdowne, Steven Michael Smith and Joshua Shane Carew will be behind bars for at least another 11 weeks after Maroochydore Magistrate Cliff Taylor set down a trial date of March 24 and 25.

Mr Smith is still in solitary confinement. Scott Michael Conley and Dan Whale, who were freed on bail last month, will learn their fate on the same day.

The men were arrested in early November for interacting at the Yandina Hotel.

"The lives of these men and their families are being destroyed," a masked man in the video says.

"These laws are draconian, fascist and discriminatory to an extreme.

"It's time for the people of Australia to stand up and oppose these unjust laws and demand that people be innocent until proven guilty."

The video was uploaded on Monday night from an account called "anon Aus".

A member of Anonymous Brisbane, who wanted to be known only as Mustard, said it came from another member in the group.

That same person was behind another video released in November addressed to Campbell Newman.

"The aim of the Yandina Five video was to show the public an alternative to the media, the truth to the story," Mustard said.

"Sometimes major mainstream media skews their stories, making things seem worse than they are for the benefit of the government.

"It was also to show the human side of the Yandina Five - that they are just normal people who did absolutely nothing wrong."
