  • Police seize loaded pistol at Urrbrae from two Sydney bikies from Nomads motorcycle gang

     
    STAR Group officers and Serious Crime Branch detectives have arrested two NSW bikies and taken a loaded handgun off the streets in a joint operation at Urrbrae.

    Police allege they found a loaded .32 calibre pistol and loose ammunition hidden inside one of two cars stopped at the start of the South Eastern Freeway just after 9pm on Thursday.

    Detectives subsequently arrested a man, 31, of South Wentworthville, NSW, who police will allege is a full member of the Nomad Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

    A 34-year-old man, of Paramatta, NSW, who police will allege is an associate of the same motorcycle gang, was also arrested.

    The men were charged with aggravated possess firearm without a licence and refused bail and are expected to appear at the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday.

    Police also seized both cars.

    “It is pleasing to remove firearms from those involved with criminal gangs,’’ said Detective Inspector Tony Crameri, of the Serious and Organised Crime Branch.

    “Possessing a loaded firearm without a licence is a serious offence which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.”
