Police operations target Bandidos in Molong: items seized, clubhouse raided

OFFICERS from Strike Force Birrewa and Strike Force Raptor have targeted the Bandidos Motorcycle Club in Molong this week.

Strike Force Birrewa was formed by officers from Canobolas Local Area Command to investigate alleged criminal activities by the Bandidos in the state’s central west.

About 5pm on Saturday officers from Strike Force Birrewa, with the assistance of Strike Force Raptor and Traffic and Highway Patrol, conducted a high-visibility traffic operation on Euchareena Road, Molong, targeting members of the Bandidos.

During the operation police issued seven vehicle defects and 30 penalty notices.

One man allegedly tested positive to cannabis in a roadside drug test and another man was issued a court attendance notice for the possession of an offensive implement.

Nine people were issued warnings for consorting.

On Tuesday night officers from Strike Force Birrewa and Strike Force Raptor, with the assistance of the Dog Unit and other specialist police, executed a firearm prohibition order (FPO) search at a home on Belgravia Road, Molong.

Officers seized a number of items including ammunition, an extendable baton and fireworks.

The items were seized and will undergo forensic examinations.

Following the FPO search, officers executed a restricted premises warrant at a suspected Bandidos clubhouse also on Belgravia Road, seizing Bandidos paraphernalia, alcohol and other items.

Investigations are continuing.
