A REBELS outlaw motorcycle gang member who allegedly assaulted a police STAR Group officer has been held in custody to appear in Court next month.

Police say the Walkley Heights man, 39, attacked the STAR Group officer while attempting to flee police at Plympton about 11.45am last Sunday.

The bikie was arrested and charged with a serious assault, acts to endanger life, resisting police, trafficking a controlled drug and breaching an intervention order.

“The arrest follows an incident that occurred at Marion Rd, Plympton between Anzac Highway and the tramline,’’ a police spokesman said.

“Police will allege the accused attempted to flee a property upon police arrival and when confronted, he assaulted a STAR Group member.’’

He is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on October 21.
