The alleged President of the Mongols OMCG Surfers Paradise chapter has been charged with drug offences following a raid on a Gold Coast unit.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima executed a search warrant at the Biggera Waters apartment on Thursday morning.

During the search, officers allegedly uncovered cocaine, steroids and drug related equipment.

A 28-year-old man, who police say is a member of the Mongols OMCG, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of utensils used in the connection with dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.

Officer in Charge of Taskforce Maxima for the South East Region, Detective Senior Sergeant Troy Lehmann, said “these criminals remain firmly in police sights” with officers continuing to take all available actions to keep the community safe.

“We take crimes of this nature seriously and we will continue targeting and disrupting OMCG members, whether they are a probationary or a senior office bearer,” Detective Senior Sergeant Lehmann said.
