Rebels bikie fighting for Buswell's seat

A Rebels bikie has announced he will be fighting for a seat in state parliament.

Peter Johnson, a life member of the Rebels Motorcycle Club, has put his name forward as one of six candidates fighting to take over from Troy Buswell in the seat of Vasse.

The former Treasurer held the seat with a margin of 21 per cent and the Liberals candidate Libby Mettam would seem to be the front runner to take over.

The former journalist has spent many years on the electorate staff of South West Region member Barry House. She lives in Dunsborough and is the Vice-President of the Dunsborough Yallingup Chamber of Commerce.

Local businessman Peter Gordon is running for The Nationals.

The rest of the field is made up by Michael Baldock from the Greens, Wayne Barnett from the Australian Christians, and Independent Teresa van Lieshout

Labor is not contesting the by-election.
