Alleged Mongols bikie charged over meth find in Adelaide CBD hotel room

TWO people have been arrested — including a bikie gang member — after police found methamphetamine in a city hotel room.

Police found 750gm of the drug during a search of a hotel room on North Tce, in Adelaide’s CBD, about 5.10pm on Sunday.

Police arrested and charged a 23-year-old Rostrevor man and Parkside woman, 30, with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

The man, who police allege is a member of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, was refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today while the woman was granted bail to appear in the same court in December.

Officer in charge of Crime Gangs Task Force, Detective Chief Inspector Scott Fitzgerald, said the incident was "another example of the illegal and dangerous activities members of outlaw motorcycle gangs engage in”.

“Police will continue to target OMCG members and their associates to disrupt their criminal behaviour,” he said.
