Motorcycle Rack Build

Damo turned 5 a week or so ago, so bought him a new helmet for his birthday, and resurrected the Peewee 50 that I've had 14 odd years, bought when my oldest boy was 5. It didn't need a lot of work, I reringed it sometime ago, just a good carb cleanout and added a fuel filter and new fuel tap.

Then there was the problem of transporting it somewhere he can ride it...We have a huge empty park a few hundred yards away, but too far for me to walk, and the trailer has an engine sitting on it I cant get off here.

Decided I'd see what there was in the way of towbar racks, and then built this one

Simple and effective , as long as you can lift the bike on by hand, or you could have another piece of channel for a ramp.

Probably could have been a little shorter coming out from the truck, but I wanted to allow for a larger bike at some stage.

One strap will hold it in place, then ya can tie the bars down...I tied the rear wheel down too..

If anyone wants one, $190. Buy yr own straps. Pick up near Penrith. Can make to suit more usual flat style towbar if necessary.

Future ones will have 100mm channel for the wheels or whatever's required.

Shipping available at extra cost, I can make it bolt together.

RTA approved as long as yr lights or plate isn't obscured, and it hangs out the back by no more than 60% of your wheelbase. This one is right on the 60%

Back to the story of Damos first ride....didnt bloody happen..too noisy..scares him still ! .....I'm so glad I went to all the effort...
