BIKIES be warned - police know who you are and will do everything in their power to target criminal organisations and activities.

Capricornia District Detective Inspector Darrin Shadlow said police would continue to constantly monitor the activity of outlaw motorcycle gang members and associates in Central Queensland.

Inspector Shadlow's comments come after Bandidos bikies laid siege to the Southport Police Station on Friday night, demanding the release of their associates arrested earlier following a brawl in Broadbeach.

New laws targeting bikies were put to State Cabinet yesterday as the Newman Government launched an unprecedented $20million campaign to drive outlaw motorcycle gangs out of Queensland.

Police Commissioner Ian Stewart said the streets would be flooded with police in a New York-style move to combat bikie violence, while the State Government flagged "prohibition laws" and US-style anti-racketeering legislation to hold club bosses responsible for the work of their henchmen.

The Commissioner said members of outlaw motorcycle gangs were on notice - police would be using all available means to "deal with" them, which Det Insp Shadlow reiterated yesterday.

"We make no bones about it - we will target any criminal organisation using any means and resources available for us to do that," he said.

The Rebels was the predominant gang present in Rockhampton and Yeppoon.

In the past police had targeted bikie gangs a number of times for drug trafficking.

"We know who they are, where they are and who their associates are. We work very closely with Task Force Hydra (the police unit tasked with investigating OMCG) to disrupt and dismantle any criminal organisation," he said.

If anyone has information about criminal activities, contact Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
