Police seize firearms and ammunition from senior Nomads member - Strike Force Raptor

Saturday, 05 October 2013 11:27:10 AM

Investigators from the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor have seized four firearms and 247 rounds of ammunition from a senior member of the Nomads outlaw motorcycle gang.

It will be alleged strike force investigators identified a 42-year-old man as being a confirmed member of the Nomads and holding the position of chapter vice president.

Yesterday (Friday 4 October 2013), the NSW Police Force’s Firearms Registry revoked the man’s firearm licence after he was deemed not suitable to hold one.

About 5.40pm yesterday, Strike Force Raptor investigators attended the man’s home on Cumberland Road, Greystanes, where they served a Notice of Revocation on him.

Police subsequently seized two semi-automatic pistols, a revolver, a rifle and 247 rounds of ammunition from the property.

Strike Force Raptor was established by State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad in 2009. It is a proactive and high-impact operation targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs and any associated criminal enterprises.
