Bandidos bikie fronts court over taxi shooting on Gold Coast

A member of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle club has been remanded in custody over an early morning shooting in a taxi on Queensland's Gold Coast.

The 25-year-old man is accused of firing two shots through the windscreen of a taxi he was in using a sawn-off shotgun at Southport around 2:30am (AEST).

Police also allege the man stole a milk van and crashed it before boarding a bus and assaulting the driver.

He and two other passengers then fled on foot.

The man was arrested after a struggle with police.

Acting Inspector Greg Lewis says a dog squad officer was also attacked.

"The offender has approached that dog squad officer and began to assault the officer," he said.

"The dog squad officer and the dog was able to subdue the offender long enough for other police to arrive on the scene."
