A big police contingent has met hundreds of bikie gang members near the West Australian Nullarbor town of Eucla.

Members of the Rebels motorcycle gang crossed the border earlier this morning and are expected to travel to Perth via Norseman and Kalgoorlie.

Police say the convoy stretches three kilometres and they are urging motorists travelling along the Great Eastern Highway to take care.

Police have warned the gang they will be closely monitored during their stay.

Meanwhile, a member of the gang has been flown to Kalgoorlie Hospital after hitting a kangaroo on the Eyre Highway late yesterday.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service says the 53-year-old man hit the animal 30 kilometres east of Madura.

He was taken to a nearby roadhouse before being airlifted to the goldfields where his condition is listed as stable.
