Bros Motorcycle Club chased for fees

A BIKIE gang is being chased for body corporate fees owed on its burnt-out clubhouse.

The owners' corporation of a Melton factory complex took legal proceedings against the Bros Motorcycle Club and was awarded almost $2200.

Club members did not attend a recent hearing at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal but protective service officers were on duty in the VCAT foyer.

Jonathan Sher, of Kliger Wood Real Estate, made an application on behalf of the owners' corporation, but declined to comment.

Documents filed with VCAT show the club owed $1969.40 in outstanding fees for its share of insurance, repairs and maintenance fees for the six months ending last December 31.

Mr Sher, awarded this amount plus costs and penalty fees, did not apply in the hearing for an extra $1969.40 listed in tribunal documents as owed for the six months to June 30.

The clubhouse in the Melton Valley Drive complex was burnt in May and no longer used, detective Sen-Sgt Paul Cassidy said. Melton CIU was investigating the "suspicious" blaze.
