A Victorian police officer has been arrested in an investigation into bikie links.

Victoria Police on Saturday said the senior constable from the North West Metro region was arrested on Friday night after a joint operation by the Professional Standards Command and the anti-bikie violence taskforce Echo.

He was charged with misconduct in public office, and with firearms and drug offences, and suspended without pay.

The officer was bailed to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Victoria Police said the arrest was in connection with Taskforce Eagle, an anti-corruption taskforce formed last month to investigate possible links between police and outlaw motorcycle gangs.
