Police have arrested two members of the Rebel Outlaw Motor
Cycle Gang and seized stolen items following an assault at a cemetery last
Sunday morning.
About 1am on Sunday 16 May, a 30-year-old man suffered serious injuries
following an assault by three men at the Minmi Cemetery. NSW Ambulance
Paramedics attended the cemetery and conveyed the victim to John Hunter
Hospital, Newcastle. He suffered fractures to his face, ribs and eye socket,
and is now in a stable condition.
Following investigations into the assault, about 10am yesterday (Tuesday 18
May), police executed a search warrant on a Rebels OMCG clubhouse in Throsby
St, Wickham.
Police seized suspected stolen items at the premises, including a sickle,
machetes and two Harley Davidson motorcycles.
About 12.10pm police arrested a 45-year-old man at a home in Mount Hall
Road, Raymond Terrace.
About 12.40pm police arrested a 23-year-old man at a l property in Parkway
Avenue in Hamilton South.
Both men were charged with maliciously inflict grievous bodily harm and
specially aggravated detain for advantage.
Both men have been bail refused and are due to appear in Newcastle Local
Court this morning.
Police want to speak with a 22-year-old man, who may be able to assist with
their enquiries.
