A senior member of the Rebels and three associates have been arrested by officers from the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor and St Marys Local Area Command following an assault in Sydney’s west.


Shortly after 11am yesterday (Thursday 22
August 2013), police were called to a mechanical repair business at Phillip Street, Kingswood, following reports of a man screaming.


A man had allegedly been punched, kicked, pushed and hit with a pipe and bat before police arrived at the scene. He was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to his injuries.


Police arrested four men and executed a search warrant on the premises.


Officers seized cash, steroids, a vehicle suspected of being rebirthed, and chemicals and glassware suspected of being used for the manufacture of prohibited drugs.


A 27-year-old senior member of the Rebels and three associates, aged 31, 21 and 20, were each charged with assault causing actual bodily harm in company.


All were granted conditional bail, with the men aged 27 and 20 to appear at Penrith Local Court on Tuesday 10 September 2013; and the men aged 31 and 21 to appear at Penrith Local Court on Wednesday 11 September 2013.


Inquiries into the items seized by police are continuing.


Strike Force Raptor was established by State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad in 2009. It is a proactive and high-impact operation targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs and any associated criminal enterprises.
