Notorious bikie gang members charged

 

Three suspected members of the Notorious bikie gang face charges after investigations into the shooting of a high-ranking member in Sydney's west last year.

State Crime Commands Gangs Squad detectives arrested the three on Tuesday after raiding five homes.

The officers had been investigating an attack on a high-ranking Notorious member who was shot twice in the leg during a drive-by shooting outside a house at Doonside on November 29.

Police were also investigating an alleged assault at a cafe in Mount Druitt a day later.

On Tuesday, police raided five homes in Abbotsford, Blacktown, Greenacre, Granville and Fairfield Heights, seizing clothing, mobile phones, more than $13,000 cash, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and prohibited drugs including steroids.

About 6.30am (AEDT), a 23-year-old man was arrested at the Abbotsford home and later charged with affray and armed with intent.

A 23-year-old Blacktown man went to Merrylands Police Station where he was charged with affray and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent.

A third man, aged 30, was arrested about 7.45am (AEDT) at the Greenacre home and later charged with breach of bail offences and refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday.

Police allege all three men are members of the Notorious outlaw criminal group.

The Abbotsford man has been granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on March 10 while the Blacktown man has been granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on March 16.
