Comancheros arrested over murder attempt

TWO brothers from an outlaw motorcycle gang have been arrested over the shooting of a rival gang member in Sydney.

Police say the men, aged 26 and 30, are Comanchero members and were arrested about 7am (AEST) at home in Matraville, in Sydney's southeast.

Officers from the Gangs Squad and the anti-bikie Strike Force Raptor executed simultaneous warrants at the premises and at the Comanchero clubhouse at Milperra, in Sydney's southwest.

The brothers are expected to be charged over the shooting of Hells Angel member Peter Zervas, who was gunned down on March 29, 2009 while getting out of his car in front of his Lakemba residence.

Mr Zervas was shot multiple times but survived the attack.

Both men are expected to appear before Waverley Local Court on Monday charged with conspiracy to murder.
