AN alleged Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member from Caringbah will appear in court next month, charged with importing and possessing steroids.

A joint operation by Customs and Border Protection and the Strike Force Raptor detectives led to the man’s arrest in a supplement store at Cronulla yesterday. Customs and Border Protection intercepted a package from China containing 50 packets of anabolic steroids, police said.

Each packet contained 50 capsules of the prescribed restricted substance.

After police were told, detectives replaced the contents with a fake substance.

The parcel was delivered to a Croydon Street shop and found by police after they raided the property.

A Caringbah man was arrested at the store, police said. A further search warrant on a Lynch Avenue house, Caringbah, resulted in a small amount of steroids and other items being seized.

The man was charged with importing a prohibited import and possessing a prescribed restricted substance.

He was granted bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on November 17.

Inquiries into a second resident who was not home at the time of the warrant are continuing.

Anyone with information in relation to outlaw motorcycle gangs is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
