New South Wales police have arrested a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang for stealing more than $400,000 dollars worth of machinery in Goulburn.

Police are investigating the theft of a number of heavy vehicles and machinery in the Goulburn area this year.

A 28-year-old man, who police say is a member of the Rebels Motorcycle Gang, was arrested yesterday near Sutton Forrest and has been refused bail.

A 38-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were also arrested in Cowra earlier this week for their alleged involvement.

Police allege the charges relate to the theft of an excavator and float.
