High-ranking Notorious member charged over alleged firearm related offences - Gangs Squad

Gangs Squad detectives have arrested and charged an alleged high-ranking organised criminal group member in relation to alleged firearm and weapons related offences.
A 24-year-old man was charged by police on Tuesday 6 September, 2011, with the following offences:

Possess prohibited weapon x 4

Possess proscribed restricted substance x2

Possess anabolic steroid
Police allege the man is a high-ranking member of the Notorious organised criminal group. He remains in custody and will appear at Penrith Local Court tomorrow.
The charges relate to a search warrant conducted by police at a storage facility in Castle Hill on 28 March, 2011, where three firearms, loaded magazines, two silencers and a quantity of ammunition were located and seized.
He was previously arrested and charged on 30 June, 2011 in relation to an alleged shooting at Mount Druitt on 21 February, 2011.
Strike Force Ventilate comprises detectives from the State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad and was established to investigate a number of alleged violent incidents involving Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang and Notorious organised criminal group members and associates.
