THREE bikies were arrested at Adelaide Airport today after a brawl which
has left a man in a critical condition.
Police said yesterday, the three had just disembarked a flight from
Sydney at about 10am when they were arrested over the brawl which
happened at the Lonsdale Hotel early Saturday morning.
Police from the Crime Gangs Task Force and STAR Group officers were
waiting for the trio when they arrived.
It will be alleged the three fled interstate after one of two hotel
brawls in the southern suburbs early Saturday.
The men; a Port Noarlunga man, 22, a full Rebels member, a Morphett Vale
man, 28, and a Hackham West man, 25, were arrested and charged with
aggravated assault cause harm, disorderly behaviour and property damage.
One was also charged with breaching existing bail conditions and police
have opposed bail for all three men. They will appear in the Adelaide
Magistrates Court today.
The arrests were in relation to a brawl at the Lonsdale Hotel which has
left another man, 28, with critical head injuries.
He remains in intensive care at Flinders Medical Centre after witness
reports he was kicked in the head and stomped on while on the ground.
The Lonsdale Hotel fight followed another just 30 minutes earlier at the
Port Noarlunga Hotel, at about 2.15am, which was forced to close its
doors.
Both fights involved several of the same people and has also been linked
to the Finks Motorcycle Club.
The injured man is believed to be linked to one of the outlaw motorcycle
clubs.
Those involved were not wearing club colours and patrons at the Lonsdale
Hotel said up to 15 men were involved in the wild brawl, using anything
that came to hand as missiles.
"One guy got behind the bar and was throwing bottles," he said.
"It just broke out all of a sudden.
"They were picking up anything they could get their hands on a throwing
it at each other," the witness said.
Security vision from both hotels was seized and police are asking for
any witnesses to the assault to contact BankSA Crime Stoppers on
