Grafton
Friday, 29 Feb 2008 12:04pm
Police in the state’s north have raided an outlaw motorcycle gang
clubhouse this morning, seizing illegal weapons and motorbikes.
About 6.30am officers attached to Coffs / Clarence Local Area Command
executed the search warrant on the Gladiators clubhouse in Turf Street,
Grafton.
No-one was in the building at the time, however police have located four
motorbikes believed to be stolen or rebirthed vehicles as well as
ammunition and prohibited weapons including knuckle dusters and a
home-made baton.
All the items have been seized for further examination and police will
continue to conduct inquiries into the club and its members.
Today’s operation came about as a result of information received during
Strike Force Weemabah.
The strike force was established late last year to target the commercial
supply of MDMA (ecstasy) in the Grafton area and officers last week
arrested a number of people, including a member of the Gladiators OMCG,
as well as seizing cash and drugs.
