Australasian Biker News
So how much time and effort, which means taxpayers money ,will be used to investigate people who aren't active criminals? Good to know they must have every other crime that's been committed in SA solved, so they have time to investigate the possibility a crime has been committed somewhere in the past. FFS! I know I could be investigated from now till the year 4000 and they'll find f all, fucking idiots...
SA anti-biker laws will be retrospective: Atkinson
Saturday, 10 May 2008
South Australian Attorney-General Michael Atkinson says anyone who has
been a member of an outlaw motorcycle club could come under
investigation under the new anti-biker laws.
The laws allow authorities to restrict who bikers associate with and
gives police the power to outlaw clubs.
They will will come into effect from July 1.
Mr Atkinson has told ABC TV's Stateline program people who have been
involved with 'bikie gangs' the past could be targeted because the laws
are retrospective.
"It is to the extent because if it were not retrospective given that
we've been canvassing this kind of law for months, members of the gangs
could have bailed out before the law comes into effect," he said.
"I expect the sensible exercise of police discretion and prosecutorial
discretion will make this law livable.
"Having said that, I look forward to the time when laws like this are
not necessary and indeed the law will sunset after five years."
