Bikies
held
for
random
bash
spree
Australia
-
THREE
Finks
bikies
allegedly
went
on a
random
30-minute
violent
rampage
at
Broadbeach
early
yesterday,
which
ended
with
five
people
being
taken
to
hospital.
The
trio
included
a
high-profile
bikie
who
hit
the
headlines
after
the
shootout
between
Finks
and
Hells
Angels
at
the
Royal
Pines
Resort
in
March,
2006.
Police
arrested
him
at
the
Broadbeach
Mall
and
allegedly
found
a
knife
concealed
in
his
sock.
As
uniformed
police
arrived
at
the
scene,
the
well-known
bikie
was
allegedly
attempting
to
stomp
on
the
head
of a
random
victim.
Detectives
said
the
rampage
started
in
Platinum
nightclub
where
it
will
be
alleged
that
the
youngest
of
the
three
bikies
sexually
assaulted
two
females,
pulling
down
the
top
of
one
woman
and
grabbing
her
breasts.
It
will
also
be
alleged
that
the
infamous
bikie
punched
a
nightclubber
as
the
trio
were
leaving
the
club
about
3am
yesterday.
The
bikies
then
moved
through
the
mall,
allegedly
attacking
people,
mainly
with
their
fists.
"As
best
we
can
establish,
there
were
eight
people
attacked,
nothing
was
said
and
there
doesn't
appear
to
be
any
reason
why
these
people
were
set
upon
at
all,"
said
a
detective
yesterday.
Paramedics
treated
five
people
at
the
mall
and
they
were
taken
to
the
Gold
Coast
and
Allamanda
hospitals
with
various
injuries.
Police
charged
a
38-year-old
man
with
possession
of a
knife,
affray
and
assault;
another
35-year-old
man
was
charged
with
affray;
a
22-year-old
man
was
charged
with
sexual
assault,
assault
and
robbery.
The
22-year-old
was
also
wanted
on a
previous
robbery
charge.
The
trio
will
appear
in
the
Southport
Magistrates
Court
today.
In
recent
years,
the
Gold
Coast
chapter
of
the
Finks
has
rarely
been
out
of
the
media
spotlight.
Police
are
still
searching
for
a
Finks
member
who
fled
the
scene
of a
car
accident
at
Eagle
Heights
in
which
a
disabled
woman
was
trapped
and
seriously
injured
last
Friday
morning.
Two
women
were
left
behind
in a
Mazda
323
Astina
involved
in
the
head-on
collision
with
a
Mercedes-
Benz
sedan,
linked
to
prominent
Fink
member
Gregory
John
Keating,
on
the
Tamborine-Oxenford
Road.
It
took
firefighters
more
than
one
hour
to
free
the
disabled
woman
from
the
wreck.
Items
belonging
to
Keating,
including
a
traffic
infringement
notice,
were
found
inside
the
Mercedes
and
police
say
they
know
the
identity
of
the
driver,
who
lives
in
the
Tamborine
area,
but
have
been
unable
to
find
him.
Witnesses
said
the
Mercedes
was
veering
across
the
road
before
the
crash.
Keating
was
remanded
in
custody
after
allegedly
slashing
a
Gold
Coast
man
with
a
bottle
at
the
Berlin
Bar
in
Surfers
Paradise
on
Christmas
Eve.
In
2006,
five
people
were
wounded
after
a
gunfight
between
the
Finks
and
Hells
Angels
during
a
kickboxing
match
at
the
Royal
Pines
Resort
ballroom.
More
than
1800
people
were
at
the
venue
when
members
of
the
two
clubs
used
guns,
knives
and
their
fists,
as
well
as
throwing
chairs,
during
the
riot.
