Bikie gangs blitz: 539 arrests
June 26, 2008 - 3:44PM
Almost 540 people have been arrested in the first 12 months of a
crackdown on outlaw motorcycle gang members in NSW.
Police Minister David Campbell said in the year since Operation Ranmore
was established, 1,292 charges have been laid, and 539 gang members and
associates arrested.
"Those charges range from drug supply, affray, traffic matters and
participation in criminal group offences," Mr Campbell said.
He said Ranmore has targeted club houses, outlaw motorcycle gang events
and included high visibility policing.
