This Friday (10th September) the doors will open on arguably Australia's largest motorcycle event, the Melbourne Australian Motorcycle Expo 2004
The organisers maintain they have secured displays from every major exhibitor from large manufacturers down to boutique suppliers of custom motorcycles and parts.
Southern Cross Promotions spokesman Mark Petersen said they were expecting a 45,000 strong crowd over the three days, drawn not just by the exhibits but also by the festival style atmosphere.
"We're ecstatic that the expo has gone from a relatively small start a few years ago to now easily drawing over 45,000 people and the widest range of motorcycle related products under one roof in the country," he said.
"It's a great thing for Melbourne and as soon as the
doors of the Royal Exhibition Building, at Carlton open on Friday
until when they shut on Sunday night, there'll be something for
everyone," he said.
For a fourth big year the Heavy Duty/ Electromold show and shine
will be a focal point of the expo. Twenty five of Australia's top
custom, stock, classic and vintage bikes will be on show.
Honda will be showing off a VTX1800 Jesse James (one of the worlds best custom motorcycle builder) creation - an amazing machine which will have all sports bike and cruiser fans drooling.
"We've got the Yamaha Action Arena which will explode with Crusty Demon Luke Urek performing freestyle motocross along with Steve Mini, Motorcycle Mayhem will take place in the Yamaha Celebrity Naughty Ninety Race, while Trials demonstrations and the Mini 4 Stroke Dash for Cash will also be major drawcards," he said.
"Plus the Honda Stage and Screen will host a number of special presentations including the Ride 4 Kids Charity Auction on Saturday night plus the Australasian Dirt Bike Magazine World Tyre Changing Championships."
Two wheels magazine will once again announce the Western QBE Two Wheels Bike of the Year Award.
Freerider Magazine are giving away thousands of dollars in prizes in the Freerider MX Ultimate Buff Give Away, and Trail Bike Adventure Magazine Australia's newest motorcycle magazine is giving one lucky visitor to the expo the chance to win the ultimate bragging rights by sending a professional photographer along with them and their mates to feature their favourite ride in an upcoming magazine.
The show will feature many "never seen in Australia before" unveilings, including Yamaha's 05 R6, an all new TTR230, the world's first production 2WD the 2-Trac, the complete range of 05 YZ's and WRs, 3 limited edition Sport ATV's, plus the all new Rhino 4WD machine.
