A NSW paper has revealed the face of fugitive Hells Angel Wayne
Schneider, who is thought to be in hiding somewhere in Sydney.
(we wont)
It is understood he is armed and dangerous, and police have warned
members of the public not to approach him.
Schneider is described as being of white/European appearance, about
190cm tall and of large, muscular build.
He has olive complexion and short, dark, spiky hair.
Schneider is wanted in connection with the shooting of a bouncer
outside the Sapphire Suite nightclub, at Kings Cross, on February
11.
Several Hells Angels face court over the incident, but it is
understood Schneider, 28, was the triggerman.
A spray of bullets injured the bouncer in the leg and grazed a woman
standing in a queue outside the club.
Gangs Squad detectives are tight-lipped about Schneider, refusing to
discuss his background.
"He is known to associate with the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle
gang,'' a police spokesman said.
"Anybody who knows his whereabouts is warned not to approach him,
but to immediately contact Triple 0 or the nearest police station.''
Tensions have risen as clubs have set up several new city chapters
in the past two years.
The Bandidos and the Hells Angels "city crew'' both now call the
inner western suburb of Petersham "home''.
Highway 61, a club that originated in New Zealand, meets at nearby
Camperdown.
The Sapphire Suite incident sparked a series of tit-for-tat
shootings spanning at least two states and involving members of the
Hells Angels, the Nomads and the Finks.
On March 16, a Nomad was shot as he walked out of the Men's Gallery,
a Pitt St club - allegedly by a Hells Angel who had recently
defected from the Finks.
Ten days later, the Nomads' newly installed national president,
Scott Orrock, was wounded by a bullet inside the Showgirls club, at
Kings Cross, after a stoush with a patron.
The shots were allegedly fired by fellow Nomads who had tried to
come to Orrock's assistance.
In April, an internal battle within the Bandidos led to the murder
of downtown president Rodney Monk by fellow Bandido Russell Oldham,
who later killed himself.
Allegedly differences had been brewing inside the club for years.
The murder of drug dealer and Bandidos associate Mirhad Sande at
Malabar in late 2005, and the subsequent kidnap and torture of the
son of another senior Bandido, are believed to have been the straws
that broke the camel's back.
