Petty saves red faces at christening

PRINCESS Mary's best friend and bridesmaid Amber Petty has arrived in Denmark
for the christening of the royal heir, despite a minor diplomatic scuffle
concerning her attendance.
Danish media have registered disquiet over the prospect that Sydney television
personality Petty would bring her new boyfriend - hotelier Mark Alexander-Erber
- to the christening.
Mr Alexander-Erber's "links" to the Bandidos bikie group, it was reported, had
prompted a private warning from the princess that he would not be welcome.
The intrigue followed the publication last month of photographs showing Petty
with Bandidos members at Mr Alexander-Erber's Christmas party in Sydney.
But Petty arrived in Copenhagen alone last week and was welcomed into the royal
quarters to help prepare for next Saturday's christening of the three-month-old
heir to the Danish throne.
"Amber Petty has chosen sides," concluded the magazine Se Og Hor last week. "She
has chosen her friend of many years instead of her boyfriend."
Whether Petty will be a godmother to the baby boy has not been announced; nor
has his name, although speculation overwhelmingly backs Christian.
Three hundred guests including European royalty will attend the ceremony.
