Legacy ride planned
Wednesday, 1 December 2004

THE Bombala Motorcycle Association is currently working hard with Legacy and the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club to set up a charity bike ride around the local region that will raise money for Australia's war widows.

BMA president, Murray Fleming explains that the ride, which will take place on February 12 of next year, will feature everything from amazing roads and views to a free barbecue lunch and a presentation at the conclusion of the trip.

The charity ride is planned to begin in Bombala and continue on through Wyndham and Candelo, with the riders pausing for a complimentary barbecue lunch in Bemboka to fuel up for the second leg of the ride.

From Bemboka the group will head onto Nimmitabel and then Cooma, with a presentation dinner being held at the Alpine Hotel, complete with a great lot of prizes.

Mr Fleming said that an invitation has gone out to many different motorcycle clubs in the area to participate in the charity ride, but also hopes that every local bike rider will consider taking part to help raise money for Legacy.

Not only will they be helping out our war widows, but will also have the chance to enjoy the great local roads that have reached acclaim from riders everywhere, and of course there'll be plenty of interesting characters to meet along the way.

So get some riding buddies together, pencil February 12 into the diary and keep a look out for the posters that will be going up around town
