Police reject suggestion shooting linked to bikie gang violence
Police are searching a unit at Camperdown in Sydney's inner-west, where a man was shot last night.

The 30-year-old remains in a critical condition in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

A 40-year-old man was also found near the unit and is being treated for head injuries.

Police investigator Sue Tristy says speculation the incident is connected to the bikie gang violence of recent days is not correct.

"I can assure at this stage of our inquiries there is nothing to suggest that it is bikie or gang-related," Ms Tristy said.

A man was shot in the stomach and another suffered head injuries in an incident at a block of units in Sydney.

Police said a man with a gunshot wound to his stomach hailed a taxi to take him to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital shortly before midnight last night.

His condition was listed as critical.

Police reportedly believe the men may be linked to the Commancheros bikie gang and are due to hold a media conference on the incident shortly.

A second man with head injuries was found in the Camperdown unit soon after and also rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Police said both men were injured in the same incident but have called for public help to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Two men who helped the shot man to the hospital have been interviewed.

The taxi has also been taken in for forensic examination.
