West Australian police have frozen assets worth $1.25 million belonging to the president of a bikie gang after he was charged with drug offences.

Phillip Williams Rowles, 52, the president of the Club Deroes bikie gang, was charged with possessing methylamphetamine with the intent to sell and supply yesterday after police raided his property in High Wycombe, in Perth's hills.

Police allege they found $12,000 in cash, more than 8kg of tablets, which tested positive to both morphine and amphetamine, more than 750g of amphetamine, clandestine drug laboratory glassware and 1,000 rounds of shotgun ammunition.

Rowles appeared in Midland's Magistrate's Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear again on January 25.

He did not seek bail.

Another four people were also charged, including a 48-year-old female charged with possession of ecstasy, and a 23-year woman charged with possessing cannabis and a smoking implement.

A 41-year-old Cloverdale man was charged with possessing cannabis.

A 38-year-old man, from Beaconsfield, was charged with receiving and possessing a prohibited drug with the intent to sell and supply.

None of the other charged have yet made court appearances.

Police said inquiries were continuing and more charges may be laid.
