Police seize documents in bikie gang
raids
Western Australia police have raided several properties across Perth as part
of a long-running investigation into the business activities of outlaw
motorcycle gangs.
Officers from the Organised Crime
Squad today focused on the Hay Street office of a prominent Perth lawyer who
represents several bikie gang members.
Detectives searched the office for
several hours before seizing documents believed to contain details of the
gang's assets.
Detective Inspector Rick Scupham says
investigations are continuing.
"I mean, Organised Crime Squad, by the
nature of our job, works on the upper echelon target in criminal activity,
so it would be fair to say that we believe that they are in the upper
echelon target range of people in the established criminal networks of this
state," he said.
