Bail for bikie charged over brawl
27apr06
A MEMBER of the Finks bikie gang has
been granted conditional bail after being charged over a bloody brawl
between rival gangs on the Gold Coast.
Magistrate Ray Rinaudo today ordered
Nicholas John Forbes, 36, to reappear in Southport Magistrates Court on
September 26 for the start of a three-day committal hearing.
Mr Forbes was yet to enter a plea after being charged with committing acts
intended to cause grievous bodily harm, wilful damage, and enter with intent
to commit affray.
He is the third Finks member to
surrender to police following a violent brawl between his gang and the Hells
Angels at Royal Pines Resort on March 18.
A national search was launched for
several men after four bikies and a bystander were either shot or stabbed
during the brawl at a kickboxing tournament.
Accompanied by his solicitor Jason Jacobson, Mr Forbes surrendered to Gold
Coast police yesterday.
Police will allege Mr Forbes punched Hells Angel member Christopher Wayne
Hudson and held him while Shane Scott Bowden shot him.
Mr Bowden, 33, was taken into custody earlier this month and faces an
attempted murder charge.
Mr Rinaudo granted bail to Mr Forbes on the condition he stay at his Hope
Island address, regularly report to police, avoid contact with Mr Hudson and
his family, and provide a $7500 surety.
