Gypsy Jokers founder dies, aged 56

The outlaw bikie gang The Gypsy Jokers is in mourning, following the death of one of its founding members.

Leslie Hoddy, 56, has died of a massive heart attack in Royal Perth Hospital.

He was one of five men charged over a series of bombs and arson attacks in the remote West Australian town of Ora Banda in 2000.

He was acquitted of the charge last year.

 

Police to meet Gypsy Jokers over funeral plans

Senior police are expected to meet members of the outlaw motorcycle gang the Gypsy Jokers to discuss arrangements for the funeral of one of its founding members.

Leslie Hoddy, 56, died on Friday night in Royal Perth Hospital of a massive heart attack.

He was one of five men charged over a series of bombs and arson attacks in the remote Western Australian settlement of Ora Banda in 2000.

He was acquitted of the charge last year.

The last time there was a funeral of an outlaw

motorcycle gang, there was a clash between bikies and police.

Police expect to meet senior members of the Gypsy Jokers this week.
