A MOTORCYCLE club member, charged after a cache of weapons was found hidden inside a North Haven house, has become the seventh person charged over the corruption allegations which have hit the South Australian police force.

William John Davis, 47, of Taperoo, was arrested on Monday and charged with offences ranging from abetting abuse of public office and theft to unlawful possession and possessing a drug of dependence.
His arrest followed a raid on a house at Steadman St, North Haven, where police found a large quantity of high-powered firearms and ammunition hidden in a wall cavity.

Davis, who is a member of the Finks Motorcycle Club, made a bail application in Adelaide Magistrates Court yesterday, saying he was the sole carer of his two teenage children and needed to be home to support them. Sgt Fred Wojtasik, prosecuting, said Davis - whose image is suppressed - had a "30-page" criminal history.

He said the offences were committed while Davis was already on bail for other firearms charges, and while allegedly involved in the corruption case involving police officer Deborah Lee Buckskin.

Magistrate Terry Forrest refused bail, remanding Davis in custody until next month.

The refusal was too much for Davis, who stood in the dock and shouted abuse at police officers who were present.

"I hope you're happy with what you've done to me kids, you f...ing mutts," he said. Last week, Buckskin, 34, of Greenwith, was charged with abuse of public office. She was among six people charged with allegedly passing on government information to motorcycle gangs.

Detective Superintendent Deane Paynter said the quantity of guns seized and the fact that one was loaded, was of concern to police.

The haul included a loaded six-shot revolver, two semi-automatic hand guns, a vest containing a .22 semi-automatic pistol, a single shot .22 pen gun with 40 rounds of .22 ammunition, three semi-automatic assault rifles, a semi-automatic shotgun, 422 shotgun shells, two .22 rifles and more than 2000 rounds of ammunition. A collection of knives and a quantity of chemicals were also seized.
