Bikie club leader jailed over drug offences
A leader of the Rebels Motorcycle Club has been jailed on drugs charges in
Rockhampton in central Queensland.
Brendan Joseph O'Brien was found guilty of possession and supply but not guilty
of trafficking drugs.
Amphetamines totalling nearly 900 grams and a street value of $270,000 were
found in two jars on a bush property next door to O'Brien's home on
Rockhampton's northern outskirts.
Justice Peter Dutney accepted a defence submission that other Rebels members may
have owned the drugs and O'Brien had allowed them to hide it.
O'Brien was jailed for five and a half years.
The court was told that Rebels members Terrence Williams and Michael Miller had
been selling drugs on Rockhampton streets for four years.
They were supposed to face trial with O'Brien but failed to appear.
