Two held over Gypsy Jokers death

TWO men have been arrested over the fatal shooting of a Gypsy
Jokers biker in a small South Australian town today.
Police said the 31-year-old man died instantly when he was shot
twice in the chest outside the Weerona Hotel at Wallaroo on SA's
Yorke Peninsula.
About 30 Gypsy Jokers gang members had been drinking at the hotel
before the incident occurred about 3.30am (CST).
Minutes later at another location in Wallaroo, another man was
assaulted and suffered head and chest injuries, police said.
The assault victim remained in hospital today but it was not
immediately known if the incidents were related.
The dead man, from Mount Gambier in SA's southeast, had been
among Gypsy Jokers on a weekend club run on the Yorke Peninsula.
Two men were arrested over the shooting about 10.30am (CST)
today, a police spokesman said.
They were being interviewed by police and charges were expected
to be laid later today, he said.
Police sent major crime detectives and officers from a special
motorcycle gang task force to the scene of the shooting.

Police have linked the overnight shooting death of a man in a
country town north of Adelaide to the Gypsy Joker bikie gang.
Police say the shooting happened at a Wallaroo hotel on the Yorke
Peninsula about 3:30am ACST.
Major crime investigators, as well as detectives from a special
motorcycle gang-related operation, have headed to the town to
join local police in the investigation.
