Man remanded in custody over alleged gang reprisals
A Western Australia police detective has expressed
concern in a Perth court about reprisals arising out of gang-related
violence at a Northbridge nightclub last weekend.
The concern was expressed while police were opposing a
bail application by 28-year-old Nabil Dabag, who has claimed to be a member
of a gang called the Scorpion Boys.
He is alleged to have repeatedly stabbed Coffin
Cheater motorcycle gang member, Troy Mercanti, who the court heard has been
charged with shooting Mr Dabag.
Detective Rex Tunks testified today the police had
information Mr Dabag was attempting to contact associates in the eastern
states, because he was keen on reprisal against Mr Mercanti.
As a result, bail was refused and Mr Dabag was
remanded in custody to appear in court again tomorrow.
