The Great (big pain in the arse..) Rebuild!

A bit cooler this arvo thank Christ, managed to work without blinding myself with sweat for a change. Got the primary on, then concentrated on the chain, the endless master links are a pain with no special tools, but eventually got it. Exhaust goes on ,exhaust comes off... bought a 3 piece(tho ya cant tell...) torque arm from Natlis and had to see if it would fit. It wouldnt, but it will...First the cut out round the cam cover wasnt right for this type of engine, but just needed relieving of about 1sq inch of metal. Then this motor is wider than stock, so the arm will need a 10mm packer between the gearbox piece and the bit that covers the oil pump.Brand new clutch cable I bought was stuffed at the handel bar end, and of course I didnt notice till Id installed it. Off comes the gearbox cover again, at least I hadnt put any oil in yet..Got the electrics back together so I could spin the motor and try and bring up some oil pressure with the plugs out as recommended. Aint got a tool /screwdriver big enough for the tappet screen screw, so Id better buy one. Silly farking things why dont they use allen bolts?.

That front guard has ta come off again, clearcoat still not dry....

lhs of torque arm

this is the bit that needs a 10mm packer behind it on the LHS

The paint saga continues.Fairly sure I got a bad tin of hardener. Back to metal on 1 tank again, and sprayed the undercoat this morning, so Ill try a colour coat tomorrow, then onto the clear again...never say die!
