Fitting a 160
Is it just me or are Harley rear wheels a pain in the arse to change..?.Ive got a lift which helps when removing, but replacing em is still painful.
Seeing Ive got a chain on, there was a bit more room on the left side between the old 140 and the chain than with the wider belt. I measured it at 15mm from the edge of the tyre to the chain, so figured I could go twice that less a bit for clearance, or about 20mm wider than a 140. 160 sounded good.Rang the local Harley shop and got an incredulous "160?? na 130 or 140..." Much the same with a big dealer(Frasers in Sydney, tho they had 150's). MAS at Parramatta had it tho, but at a price, $237.00 fitted. I think I only paid $150or $160 for the 140...ay yai yai...generally Im a fan of the old adage "if it dont make it quicker or handle better I dont want it..." but thought it might improve the looks...
Anyway took the wheel with me today and bought the damn thing. Loved carrying it the 50m to the shop and back ..

Used a strap to hold it up while I fitted the poxy lh spacer, other wise wouldve needed 3 hands, and the g/f was being useless today...

Still tricky, but eventually got it...And covered myself in grease in the process.Christ I wish I was rich and could pay some other mug to do this shit...

Filling up the guard a bit more now...
I also changed the end of the exhaust system again. Regular visitors here (hehe just having a pull...) will have seen my last rides little disaster where I bbq'ed a saddle bag, so Im attempting to preclude that happy little possibility by pointing the errant gaseous emissions south of the danger zone for the future.
