Police in Melbourne have discovered what they believe are explosives
after the arrests of two members of the Comancheros outlaw
motorcycle gang.
Amir Jaha, 29, the president of the Hallam chapter of the bikie
gang, and another gang member, aged 24, were arrested by Taskforce
Echo detectives in raids at Dandenong and Narre Warren earlier this
morning.
The pair are wanted in relation to a shooting in High Street,
Preston on October 24 in which a large number of shots were fired
inside a restaurant at around 3:00am.
While arresting the men, police located a "large number" of firearms
and a quantity of what is believed to be explosives in a vehicle at
the Narre Warren address.
The area has been cordoned off and the bomb squad is at the scene.
One vehicle was taken away from the property on the back of tow
truck.
