Bikies charged over Wollongong brawl

Five members and associates of the Lone Wolf bikie gang have been charged over a violent brawl during which chairs and glasses were thrown at a Wollongong drinking venue.

No one was seriously injured during the melee on December 23 but police were unable to locate the brawlers when they arrived to investigate reports up to seven men had been fighting.

NSW police on Wednesday morning raided a number of homes in the Wollongong area, arresting five bikies and seizing items including knuckledusters and steroids.

Each of the five men has been charged with affray and participating in a criminal group, while one is also facing four additional charges of weapons possession.

The five are due to face the Wollongong Local Court on March 14.
