POLICE have arrested a 21-year-old man after allegedly locating a sub-machine gun, ammunition and Outlaw Motorcycle Gang paraphernalia at a house in Hornsby.

Police from Ryde Local Area Command made the arrest today during investigations into a robbery at Denistone earlier in the year.

About 2:30am on Saturday, April 5, a 19-year-old man got off a bus at Denistone Railway Station when he was allegedly approached by a man and punched in the head.

He was knocked unconscious during the assault before his attacker allegedly stole cash from him and fled the scene.

Earlier today, Ryde LAC officers following up the investigation moved in on the Hornsby property where they allegedly located the weapon and ammunition, the OMCG vest, mobile phones and other items of clothing.

On the vest read the words “Prospect Chinatown”.

The 21-year-old man was taken to Hornsby Police Station where he was charged with aggravated robbery, possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of ammunition.

He was refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court tomorrow.

The firearm and ammunition will undergo further ballistic testing while investigations into the matter are continuing.
