Police seize drug lab, guns in alleged bikie raid

THREE men have been charged in the wake of a raid at Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast which police say led to the seizure of a shortened double barrelled shotgun, a revolver, cash, methylamphetamine, GHB and a taser.

The raid took place yesterday morning when officers from Taskforce Maxima and the Gold Coast Rapid Action Patrol executed a search warrant at what they've described as "an outlaw motorcycle gang residence". 

A search of the property uncovered seized cookers, burners, glassware and chemicals and the Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team were called in to examine what is believed to be a drug lab. 

Three people, including a 56-year-old man and Lone Wolf associate was charged with one count each of unlawful possession of a category A weapon, possession of a shortened firearm, unlawful possession of a category H weapon, possess category R weapon, possess explosives, possess dangerous drug (methylamphetamine), possess dangerous drug (MDMA) and possess dangerous drug (GHB). He was due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court this morning.

A 40-year-old man was charged with possession of dangerous drugs (GHB) and two counts of possess drug utensils. He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 12.

A 33-year-old woman was charged with possess property used in the commission of a crime and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on September 30.

"OMCG members and associates continue to be arrested on a regular basis for serious weapon and drug related crime.  There is a cost and risk of being a member of, or associated with an OMCG and other organised crime groups, and that is demonstrated by the actions and outcomes achieved yesterday," Detective Inspector Phillip Stevens, Taskforce Maxima said.
