UPDATE: FIRE crews have managed to save Geelong’s Bandidos clubhouse after fire engulfed a bike shop next door.
Police and CFA were alerted to the blaze after reports of thick smoke about 9pm. The fire was put out at 12.40am.
The clubhouse on Bayldon Court in Breakwater was at serious risk alongside other businesses in the small court.
More than 30 Bandidos club members watched the blaze from a police roadblock, with more arriving at regular intervals.
Many appeared frustrated that they weren’t able to gain access close to the scene, fearing club member’s bikes were inside the burning shop.
The CFA said the fire started at 8.57pm and nine trucks were on scene battling the blaze.
The fire comes after police raided eight residential properties attached to the motorcycle club on Wednesday.
Police had vowed to shut down the Geelong Bandidos bikie club after the raids, in which guns, drugs and luxury vehicles were seized.
Fire crews and police will investigate today to determine if the fire is suspicious.
