The men, aged 23 and 28, were
arrested on Wednesday after a police task force
seized steroids and methylamphetamines at their
residence near the Greenslopes Hospital.
Police allege the pair were at
the front of the private hospital when they
punched, kicked and struck another man with a
tyre lever in January.
An off-duty policeman
witnessed the incident and attempted to
intervene before being threatened by the man
armed with the tyre lever.
“This incident occurred at the
entrance of a major Brisbane hospital and had
the potential to put innocent community members
at risk,” said Detective Inspector Smith.
“This type of unlawful
behaviour will not be tolerated and we will be
relentless in prosecuting any person who puts
the safety of the community at risk.”
Both men, members of the
Bandidos motorcycle gang, will appear in the
Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday on
charges of affray, serious assault on police and
possession of a dangerous drug.
