Accused NQ bikie gang member arrested for extortion

PEOPLE who believe they may have been a victim of extortion are being asked to contact police following the arrest of an alleged member of the Black Uhlans Criminal Motorcycle Gang at Agnes Waters on Thursday.

Police will allege the man arrested attempted to extort funds from two Agnes Waters men over several weeks before assaulting them.

Police also will allege that the man arrested is a fully patched member of the Ayr chapter of the Black Uhlans.

Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch Officer In Charge Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Anderson said police believed there could be more victims and "would encourage anyone who believes they have been a victim to contact police”.

A 41-year-old Ayr man has been charged with two counts each of extortion and assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court Friday afternoon.
