OMCG enforcement action in Warwick and Logan
From November 27 – 30, police undertook road patrols near Warwick, intercepting several members and associates of OMCGs on their way interstate for an OMCG event.
Officers from Maxima, Road Policing Unit and the Darling Downs District, set up at several locations in the area, where they intercepted members and associates of the Odins Warriors, Bandidos, Satudarah and Life and Death OMCGs.
These interceptions resulted in a total of 29 infringement notices being issued, and 16 people detected with driving and riding whilst under the influence of drugs.
On Saturday (November 28) further enforcement action aimed at disrupting an OMCG event was undertaken at Loganlea in response to a gathering linked with the Rebels OMCG.
Officers from Maxima and the Major and Organised Crime Squad South East Region, together with Logan District, conducted patrols and vehicle inspections near a Meakin Street address, resulting in consorting notices being issued, and the event disrupted.
Detective Acting Superintendent Craig McGrath from the Organised Crime Gangs Group said police are continuing to monitor OMCG gang members and associates and make no apologies for disrupting their activities.
“The Organised Crime Gangs Group will continue to work with local police, and our interstate colleagues to target individuals involved in criminal gangs, to prevent their actions impacting the safety of the community,” Detective Acting Superintendent McGrath said.
