Only one good thing sitting at home going broke with no work, I've got some time to fiddle with the bike...

Well the first incarnation of the bracket ended up being basically backwards...I couldn't find an easy way to mount the actuator at the rear , but after 6months thinking about it (I'm a bit slow these days..!) I reckon I've got it....so I had to redo all the bracket joints so it'll close up over itself in a forward direction...

Operate it up and down with a weatherproof toggle switch on the tank dash. The point of which is I cant lift the right leg easily, and have to drag it till I've enough momentum to let go of the bars and lift it with my right hand...not ideal..

Will go down further than this, waiting for my stainless cable...

Need to cut off the back of the bracket at some stage now...but foot goes up, foot goes down, foot goes up...etc..

and paint or otherwise disguise the actuator. Leather cover wouldn't be a bad idea..

Previously.....

Its fun being a COB I tell ya, spent half a 370km ride trying to keep my foot on the bike last weekend...Other than providing amusement for everyone riding behind me, my foot coming off the footboard at 120k plus isn't of a lot of use....I thought that a decent surface area of the floor board would help, but it doesnt at a decent speed. Ive gone through the ockey strap routine , tying the leg on to the handlebars, but its a PITA.To stop it happening my leg needs to be more in a standard , no forward control type, riding position. But then I have the problem of lifting the leg high enough to get the foot on the footpeg.....So Im' trying this.....

Basically a bracket that can swivel up and down as needed for getting my foot on at a low height then lifting it up into normal riding position.

It will have the footrest, or floor board attached eventually.

First part that bolts to the frame.

Assembled with 3/16 bolts till I know its right, then Ill swap for 10mm with nyloc nuts.

This position on the frame will hold anything....

I've got a 6" linear actuator coming that will be attached between the shock and the key position, somehow! and hang down between the swingarm and exhaust to pick up the end of the bracket Ive made.

Its adjustable as the travel only needs to be 4" vertically as that's all the frame is off the ground when the bike sits straight.

More when the actuator gets here.

Braved the heat in the garage to do a bit more yesterday.....

If the actuator doesnt turn up by Thursday Ill stick a 1/4" bolt through the 2 angle irons to hold it all up permanent, temporarily....

Footboard is angled as thats how my foot sits naturally...

I'm thinking of using a solenoid operated by a push button on the handlebars to actuate the rear brake master cylinder..input welcome!

Forget that idea...I put the proportioning valve on, works fine...only $330  for the lines and connections!
